One of the most truly horrifying films ever made. Affecting to the very end. This movie is a masterpiece. The acting in this film by the boy is incredible. I don't think most adults yet alone a kid could pull that performance off and it is typical of Russian films. Everything is done to perfection and the acting is always central to the film's success.

What Dreams May Come (Robin Williams) and The Virgin Suicides. I don't think I could watch either one again. Very depressing. Absolutely brilliant, beautiful film. Been subbed to you for ages, but never knew you covered it. Klimov should be up there with Tarkovsky and Shepitko as the GREAT Russian directors.

Such an excellent film. I rewatched it recently and really paid attention to its perfect subtle score and the superb camera work. Thank you @Mark Berezov. Because I saw this clip you posted, I watched the original just now. I really would appreciate if some one can tell me where to find the fully Restored clean & crisp version. This movie has moved me a lot & thank you again good sir & a Happy new year. I wore a helment to school that said born to kill. This movie is pure gold. The war part is underrated if you pay attention and dont skip anything itll be good. I have still not gotten the balls to watch this movie, but I know the day will surely come. Good job.

Best 3 dollars I ever spent. Restrepo has an amazing sequel. Both are very well made docs. Godspeed and Come and See. I just found my new favorite channel. Las hordas alemanas. 4:39 ROFL. Big fan of this film awesome to see this version out.

I am not only speaking for myself, I am speaking for many of you out there when I say that this movie makes such an impact on you and leaves a scar of an unforgettable story.
It is not an antiwar movie, it is just a genuine portray of what war is all about. Without any censoring you get to experience the young boy Florian's horrific journey in Belarus throughout World War 2 where 628 villages were brutally and inhumanly destroyed by the Nazis. The most powerful impact about this movie is how the young boy's appearance changes during the course of the movie, before your eyes he literally changes and looks like an old man in the end.
I was left speechless for a while, never before has a movie made me use all my five senses, made me feel, smell and hear every second of the film. Elem Klimov is brilliant in the way that when you are just telling yourself "it is just a film" he takes you right back to Florian's atrocious reality.

This film is a definition of masterpiece. This movie is not a movie for entertaining, at least it wast entertaining for me but i couldn't blink during the movie was so real to me that i was nervous during the movie and i had this feeling that it is it real?how could they do this?I have never seen a world war-II movie that shows the violent and horror of the war that much and i was really affected by the was really shocking and real for me especially the scene that the bomb exploded, i felt that it exploded just next to me, i could feel what Florya the last scene when Florya shot at the picture of Hitler,it was like he was trying to go back to the time, with each shot it was like he went to 10 years before this and you start thinking that how the world could change if Hitler hasn't born, he was trying to delete all the miseries and memories that Hitler brought to the world but when he get to the point that Hitler was a child he couldn't shot anymore, in contrast to the previous scenes when Germans burn the children alive, Florya couldn't do it and that shows that humanities was still movie affected me a lot and i know that ill never forget about it.

A.I. The ending was so depressing, I'd never want to watch a whole movie just to get to that depressing scene.
